Metchosin Aquaponics

Our Story

Metchosin Aquaponics originated in 2009 when Bryan was introduced to aquaponics by his neighbour. At first, aquaponics started off as a hobby for Bryan which he set up in his basement. Then, in 2016 he began building a new space to expand his operation.

In the time that has passed, up to 1,000 square feet of deep-water aquaponics, 100 square feet of aeroponics, and 1,200 square feet of Nutrient filament technique have been added to the aquaponics building. All of this is serviced by nutrient-rich water generated by as many as 2,000 Tilapia fish. This forms a nearly perfect symbiotic closed-loop system with only light for the plants and food for the fish being required.
